SUMMARY:Plug Into Cyber Community Month
DESCRIPTION:Finding Community in the Digital Realm \n“For where two or three gather in my name\, there am I with them.” – Matthew 18:20 (NIV) \nIn today’s world\, our connections often transcend physical boundaries. Many of us find ourselves engaging with faith communities primarily through social media. This can feel isolating at times\, yet it also presents a unique opportunity to draw closer to God and to each other. \nAs you scroll through your feed\, take a moment to remember that each post\, like\, and comment can be a form of worship. The expressions of faith shared online\, whether through scripture\, encouragement\, or personal testimonies\, are threads in the fabric of a larger community. In those moments of interaction\, we are participating in a spiritual gathering\, even if it occurs in a virtual space. \n\n \nMy name is Muna Hiluf. I officially became a member of New Birth in 2023\, though it feels like my heart was here long before I ever walked through the doors. From the moment I stepped onto campus\, I felt something deeper than a sense of community; I felt a profound sense of purpose. In many ways\, I believe God prepared me for this house long before I knew I would be connected to it. The sermons\, the people\, the standard of excellence; it all resonated with the calling on my life in ways that words can’t fully explain. \nI currently serve as the Director of Social Media and Digital Engagement\, which means I oversee how our ministry shows up online\, strategically\, spiritually\, and creatively. It’s not just about algorithms and aesthetics; it’s about aligning our digital presence with the prophetic power and vision that lives inside the walls of New Birth. Whether I’m working behind the camera\, directing content\, planning campaigns\, or helping our message reach someone across the world\, I take it as a sacred responsibility. I truly believe that social media is one of the greatest mission fields of our time\, and I’m honored to serve on the front lines of it right here. \nThe virtual ministry space I enjoy the most\, without a doubt\, is the connection. I love how people can find a sense of belonging\, healing\, and breakthrough through a screen. When someone comments that a reel stopped them from making a bad decision\, or when we receive testimonies from people watching on YouTube from other countries\, it reminds me that digital ministry isn’t just about content\, it’s about conversion. It’s a transformation. I enjoy watching God use visuals\, captions\, livestreams\, and interactions to reach people right where they are\, especially those who may never set foot in a church building. I also love the challenge of it: keeping faith at the center of platforms that often prioritize fame. It forces us to be intentional\, creative\, and anchored in truth. \nClick here to volunteer with our exceptional team.
