We serve as a resource connecting ministry in the area of career and economic development. We  “link” and “connect” people with resources ,  empower and equip individuals and organizations with strategic tools needed to achieve success in the marketplace.

The Employment Network Ministry is comprised of a network  of Recruiters, talent acquisition managers, project managers, business owners, career coaches, and human resources professionals with HR experience from major corporations, and non-profit organizations.

Our goal is to provide career seekers with access to job information, educational information, recruiters and other hiring officials by hosting recruiting events, employment info sessions, career readiness and training seminars.

We provide access to the New Birth Job Connection ATS Technology to connect Job Candidates and Employers  seeking competitive talent for jobs,  together as a point of contact for hiring  and job fair opportunities. Our most powerful tool is the Prayer Network, encouraging job seekers during career transitions.

By pooling our resources and contacts we are able to provide New Birth Members and the community with a variety of professional complimentary services including: resume writing, interview coaching and seminars on various employment topics. Contact us with any job leads  or employment opportunities that you or someone that you may know of has to be shared.

Employers can

  • Post local jobs for free, but national jobs incur a small fee to support the ministry’s work.
  • Connect their opportunities to New Birth’s Job Connection RSS feed for additional exposure 
  • Search resumes in the ATS and label their jobs as “hot jobs”

New Birth’s Employment Network offers

  • A candidate pool that is both local and nationwide, and includes entry-level candidates to senior-level 
  • We continue Partnering with large-scale employers like FedEx, Uber, Chime Solutions, Waffle house, etc. 

New Birth provides additional support to jobseekers, post pandemic & affected by COVID-19 such as:

  • Virtual Career Fairs, Employability skills,  mindfulness, resilience  health and self-care strategies, Job Loss Impact subsidies
  • “Navigating your Career in a Virtual Workspace” webinar series
  • “Navigating Diversity, Inclusion & Engagement, etc.

Partnership with Randstaad; Hire Hope Women’s Initiative

Launched the first Handyman training program , for Young Adults, creating Certified Residential Handyman Entrepreneurs

Job Connections Career Ministry Roundtable. “Hope and Help for Our Communities”.

Faith-based Career Ministry Leaders from across the US were able to speak about the Career Ministry Wins, challenges, and key takeaways from serving those in career transitions. We all agreed that the Career Ministries that have 3 foundational components are most successful; “Spiritual, Emotional, & Behavioral ” well-being brings the most value to our ministries. Not many African American Churches offer a Career Ministry platform to this magnitude, and there is opportunity to share and to help other churches to start Employment Ministries to get America back to work. 

The Breakout sessions allowed for each of us to share what is working well in our Ministries and what is the number one problem we would like to see solved. I was asked personally to share a testimony about one of our greatest outcomes from utilizing the Job Connections Platform. I shared how the “Prayer Portal” suicide text alert feature, was one of the most significant outcomes, ( Prayer Portal is used most frequently with New Birth Job Seekers). 

We receive an alert text message anytime someone in our Ministry is threatening suicide. 

Overall, the roundtable was an enlightening encounter, and we were honored to represent. The New Birth Employment Network Job Connection is a thriving Career Ministry!

New Birth Employment Network Job Connection and WorkSource DeKalb is hosts Workforce Wednesday “Special Edition”, The Citywide Career Expo at New Birth MBC.

Workforce Wednesday is designed to connect DeKalb County residents to eligible training providers and employers in a centralized location. DeKalb County residents can learn about Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) eligibility requirements, meet with eligible training providers and learn about high demand careers. This event equips DeKalb County residents with the knowledge and resources to overcome barriers to employment, education and economic development.

New Birth Employment Network Spotlight on Partners with MAIP

We focus on one goal: Understanding and responding to employer workforce needs. We connect employers with a regional workforce partner network that provides workforce development programs and services to ensure a pipeline of qualified workers and to help people get good jobs. New Birth Employment Network was provided an opportunity to share with local Employers how we will continue empowering business innovations “post-pandemic”, connecting and providing value through the New Birth Job Connection features for Employers.
