Faith in Hard Places

Feb 5, 2026
Today, we’re honored to highlight Domonique Jones, a dedicated servant who faithfully pours into multiple ministries here at our church. From investing in the next generation through Emerging Generations, to serving with excellence in King’s Table and the Dream Team, Domonique’s heart for service and commitment to God’s work truly shine. Let’s take a moment to hear from her.
What does “unusual faith” mean to you?
Unusual faith means believing when I can’t see and trusting God even when there seems to be no possible way. It’s choosing to stand on God’s promises when my faith goes against logic, circumstances, and what makes sense. It’s trusting the impossible God in impossible situations.
When have you seen God’s favor show up in a hard place?
I have seen God heal me time and time again, especially emotionally. I’ve been through situations that could have easily made me bitter, guarded, or resentful — but instead, God softened my heart. He taught me how to forgive, how to love, and how to keep joy. Today, I choose happiness, I choose gratitude, I choose to bless others, and I choose to keep my heart pure. That healing is God’s favor at work in my life.
How has your church family strengthened your faith?
My church family has strengthened my faith by constantly pointing me back to God. They remind me not to complain or vent first, but to pray first. They’ve taught me to take everything to God — big or small — and to truly believe and expect Him to move. Being surrounded by people who live by faith has deepened my trust in God.
Short reflection on God’s faithfulness:
When it comes to school, finances have always been a challenge for me. However, God has never failed. Every time I needed provision, He made a way — through scholarships, destiny helpers, jobs, donations, and even the ability to pay out of pocket when necessary. Looking back, I can confidently say that God has always been faithful. He may not always come how I expect, but He always comes right on time.
